What could happen if you don't take your dog to Happy Dog!

What Vaccinations are required for my dog to stay at Happy Dog?

Happy dog requires the Distemper combination (1 year and 3 year vaccines accepted depending on dogs age), Bordatella (kennel cough every 6 months), and Rabies (1 year or 3 year depending on dogs age).

What kind of food do you serve?

Happy Dog serves nutro kibble products, we carry Natural choice Lamb and Rice, Max (chicken based), Max minis (chicken based), & Natural choice lamb & rice Puppy food.

Happy Dog does not provide canned food so if your pet wants some mixed in with their food please remember to bring it.

If these foods do not fit your dogs, diet, you are more than welcome to bring in your own food.

Happy Dog does have a refrigerator, small freezer and microwave, so special food preparation is not a problem. If you are going to be bringing in frozen food please notify us when making your reservations. There is no extra charge for this service.

What should I bring for my dog?

We encourage a bed or blanket from home along with a favorite toy or two. (Please keep in mind when selecting items that Happy Dog will launder soiled or wet items, so please no oversized items. i.e., comforters, sleeping bags) If you choose not to bring bedding for your pet we will provide a blanket.

Treats are welcome.

All personal items remain in your pet’s kennel except, of course if they need to be laundered Tried and true toys and treats are much more appropriate than introducing your dog to new items while boarding.

What if my dog requires medication?

Happy Dog will gladly administer your dogs medications with no additional charge

Please make sure you bring enough medications for your dogs entire stay.

What if my dog runs out of his medications or food?

If your dog runs out of food or medication, Happy Dog staff will see that it is replenished. There will be a $15.00 fee along with the cost of the food or medications added to your boarding bill

What if my dog gets sick?

Happy Dog will make every attempt to reach your vet for treatment of your pet, however if your vet is unavailable, we will contact a vet of our choice for treatment of your pet

How will my dog be introduced to other dogs?

Happy Dog takes into account each dogs own personality, Shy and timid dogs are introduced slowly starting in a non - group area paralleling a main play area, allowing your pet to adjust to the range of activity. As your dog begins making friends through the fence, they will be introduced to your dog one at a time. As each dog is an individual time for this process varies.

Dogs showing high interest in playing with others from the start may skip the above step.

What if my dog doesn’t get along with other dogs?

Happy Dog has a limited Number of non-group areas where your dog can spend time outside without having to interact with other dogs

Can my friend come and visit my dog?

Yes, your friend can come and visit your pet. However Happy Dog believes that often this is confusing and possibly stressful for your dog.

Happy Dog does not allow your dog to leave our premises (for walks or trips to the beach) due to health and safety concerns.

Are reservations required for Day Care or Boarding?

Day Care is provided on a drop in basis (no Reservations required) once the initial paper work is completed and vaccinations verified Reservations are highly recommended for boarding. Making reservations as early as possible will help insure a kennel for your dog.

Do you accept Credit cards?

Yes, Happy Dog accepts Visa and Mastercard only.

Do I need to pay in advance?

In most cases no. Payment, is however due upon pick-up of your dog. If you have someone else picking up your dog, payment arrangements need to be made in advance.

If your dog is boarding for 4 weeks or longer, 50% of payment is due in advance.

Can I arrange to pick up my dog after hours?

Happy Dog does not allow pick up after 6:00pm weekdays or 4:oo p.m. weekends or holidays. Although the staff is still of the premises cleaning, once the dogs have been bedded down for the night, it is unfair to disturb them all for the sake of one. Once disturbed, some dogs find it difficult to settle back in.

What if I forget to pick up my dog from Day Care?

If you forget to pick up your dog from day care Happy Dog will feed (nutro Lamb and Rice) and bed your dog down for the night as a boarder. Every effort will be made to contact you to inform you what has been done.

What is your cancellation policy?

Happy Dog has a 24 hours prior to admission cancellation policy. We appreciate you communicating with us at your earliest convenience. Same day cancellations will be charged a one night boarding fee

No shows with a reservation for 3 days or less will be charged $25.00

No shows with a reservation for more than 3 days will be charged $50.00

What if my plans change and I can’t pick up my boarded dog on the day I arranged to?

As soon as your plan’s change you should notify Happy Dog of the changes. This gives us the chance to make necessary arrangements to accommodate your dog for an extended stay. Your communication with Happy Dog is a must in this situation or an inconvenience fee of $25.00 will be added to your boarding fees.

What if I pick my dog up earlier then I had arranged?

Happy Dog requires a 24-hour notice of an intended early pick-up or a $25.00 fee will be added to your boarding fees. Your communication enables us to accommodate other clients.
